BIOGRAPHY
Polina Lebedieva graduated from the conducting faculty of the Ukrainian National Academy of Music and is currently continuing her conducting education at the National Superior Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris, under the guidance of Alain Altinoglu.
In summer 2022, Polina, together with Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, opened the Bachfest in Leipzig and participated in a recording for BBC Digital as part of a UNICEF initiative.
In December 2022 Polina became one of the five participants of Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy and conducted Messa da Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi with the Giovanile Luigi Cherubini Orchestra and Choir at the Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna, Italy.
In July 2023, Polina was a semi-finalist (Top 5) in the prestigious Mahler Competition in Bamberg, Germany, and in June 2024, she reached the semi-finals of the International Conducting Competition in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Adding to her accomplishments, she was named a Britten Pears Young Artist for 2023-2024 and participated in the program The Conductor as Dramaturg, organized by the Royal Opera House and Britten Pears Young Artist Program in August 2023 in Snape Maltings, UK.
Since December 2023, Polina has been an Askonas Holt Conducting Fellow. Additionally, she was a finalist for two consecutive years (2023 and 2024) of the Prix Fabuleuse Signature, an award recognizing women artists of foreign origin in France.
In the summer of 2024, she performed at the Les Étoiles du classique festival in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France, and was assistant conductor for a production of Madama Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini at the Covent Garden Opera Festival in London, UK.
In November 2024 Polina made her debut with the Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.
Polina has also collaborated with conductor Oksana Lyniv, as assistant conductor for opera productions at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and Staatsoper Stuttgart, and at concerts for the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele. She has also worked as an assistant conductor to Benjamin Levy and Jean-Jacques Kantorow with the Orchestre National de Cannes, and to Duncan Ward with Philzuid.
Throughout her career, Polina has worked with many renowned orchestras, including the Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini, London City Philarmonic, L’Ensemble intercontemporain, Orchestre National de Cannes, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre Régional de Normandie, Ensemble Zar, L’Orchestre des Lauréats du Conservatoire, Chamber Orchestra Ars Nova of the Mykolaiv Regional Philharmonic, the Queens Orchestra and others.
